"SOA record response must be authoritative ". What it is?

Post by simonmlewis »

SOA record response must be authoritative
We have a host that hosts over 20 web sites, from co.uk, .net to .fr. We are trying to host a .de domain.
The organisation DENIC says the quote above for this domain when we update name servers.

The organisation is very abrupt and I am not getting anywhere with them..

What does that quote mean, in plain English please.
I have read online and the only thing I can see thru the mist, is that it must be hosted on a server where no other domains are held.

Help please.
Love PHP. Love CSS. Love learning new tricks too.
All the best from the United Kingdom.

Worked it out. It's a "catch 22".
Our hosts won't let us add a domain to our account, until the domain is pointing to it's name servers - for security mostly.
But denic won't let you point a domain to your account, until it's setup to accept it.

Thankfully our hosts are aware of this, and are forcing it through for me.
What a pain.
