Setting up MySQL, PHP and Apache on XP for tablets

Post by mikeb »

Hi,

I may be asking for trouble here!! Has anyone tried setting up MySQL, PHP and Apache on XP (tablet version) on a tablet PC. I'm about to buy one and I'd love to have this set up on it. I've installed the above system on Win2k and a couple of 'Nix flavours so I'm not a newbie as such, I'm just wondering if anyone thinks there would be a problem?

cheers,

Mike

I don't see why it would be a problem. Do any of your friends/family members have a tablet pc? If so, ask them if you could try it out on their's first.

As far as I know, it should be fine. I've fiddled with a friends, and it was mostly a special build of the OS, nothing more. So I can't see why it'd be a problem. However, phice has a good idea. You could also call the tablet company and ask, or the sales people at your local electronics store may know something (although I kinda doubt that ;))

Thanks People!

I suppose the 'I don't see why not' camp is the one I fall into as well, but it's nice to hear another person say it. I don't know anyone else unfortunately with a tablet :-( . I'll definitely let you know how I get on 'though for anyone else who's considering. I'm afraid the standard of help from resellers is not great and I'm not even going to broach the subject. Usually they know little enough about the hardware (IMHO).

thanks for the help, and as I say, I'll let you know how it goes,

cheers,

Mike
