It should be ok, but .. i'd definetly put a linux distro on it, windows would be far too heavy. At least with linux you get a choice of light weight desktops to use. Course, you could always skip the desktop and go command line :o

And I'm with markl999! GNU/Linux on it! My suggestion is Debian - http://www.debian.org

133mhrz and 64mb ram are good enough for a development server. You can even leave it without a VGA board and monitor (use them only to set it up). You'll need just a LAN card and a power cable, all configuration and maintenance can be done remotely (command line rocks).

My development server is a 266mmx with 32mb ram powered by Debian Sarge Gnu/Linux and I'm pretty served with it.

Good luck,
Scorphus.

I agree. I used to use an old 486 for development with nothing on it but command line linux and no video. It worked out fine!

Go for the Debian GNU/Linux.

Get the Woody (stable version) ISO's (download them direct or file by file with a great tool called jigdo) you can find all information on http://www.debian.org .

Also, subscribe to the Mailing Lists ( http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/ ) specially to the debian-user one ( http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/ ). Another good resource for documentation is The Linux Documentation Project ( http://www.tldp.org ) and also Google of course (search in mailing list archive).

There are yet some IRC channels on irc.debian.org such as #debian,#gnome and others...

Go for it!
