Looking for an easy mail server program

Post by genetix »

I'm running my own webserver at my house and I have everthing setup so far. I have come to the problem of mail servers now. I need a good mailserver program that would be fairly easy to setup and as inexpensive as possible.

Anyone know some good programs for this?

Exchange works decently, depending on your requirements.. Although it's heavy and expensive..

Serverwatch.com might have additional info. They have links to the software developers, a brief feature and rating list aso aso. Perhaps you'll see something that you like if you feel the urge to test different versions...

Well I use MailDeamon PRO
on http://www.altn.com/

It definetely works with WinXP and Win 2003 server

Now if you like - you can licence or find a serial to use.

Have fun.

JUST TO ADD - thing to add to checklist - do you have a domain or subdomain name associated with your IP - e-mail server can't run on pure IP, only on domain names (you need to change DNS records)
