URGENT - PHP 5 ,apache 1.3x.x and Mysql 4.0.18 - not working

the other install sounds like php4, which doesn't have external mysql files..

let's just say, .... Someone from this part of the world will have to reinstall 4 machines from the OS to mysql db priviledges (and in the middle - webserver apache and php included),

It's best that no old files stay on the machine - for security.

if I install php 4, I will have no problems of the kind - we spent 2 pages of webspace. Right ?

I ask , because, I about to start reinstallation of everything - so I don't spend time on testing 4.x and mysql compatibility.

IS THIS SMART TO DO ?

Just to ask - so if I look at using php for websites, forms, mysql - to me php 5.0 doesn't mean much - right ?
