installing apache 2.0.50

Post by Draco_03 »

I installed apache 2.0.50 (first time) on win 98 (computer at work)

-As a network i put 127.0.0.1
-then i putted localhost
-email : who cares..

I restarted, but i can't acces localhost from my browser (ie or firefox)
I renamed the serverroot from localhost:80 to 127.0.0.1 didn't work
I also put my virtual host path to a different on (but that's not my probleme)

The icon of apache is running and there is a x in the circle
When i put my mouse over it it's says no service installed.

Any help

doesn't sound like apache is running.. Win98 doesn't have services, like NT+ systems..

meaning ?
easyphp was running fine (and still is) so apache must be operational on win98 somehow.
there is no service runnning indeed. if i double click on service there's nothing.

I need to get something else as an add on to make it work ?

hmm, I haven't used any of the "package" installers, so I don't know how they set stuff up.. but should probably check to see if apache really is running and what ports and things it's set to listen to. maybe the error logs will show something.
