NAT Software (or MAC spoofing)

Does anyone know if there are any windows NT programs that run on the CLIENT side for doing what NAT on a router would do?
I want to make a PC on the network look to the cable modem like the PC which has been assigned an IP by the modem.
I could technically change the IP of the other PC and default gateway/subnet etc to match the settings issued by the modem but the MAC address would be wrong and there would be an IP conflict.
I kinow I can get Software to spoof the MAC and make it look like the other PC but will this not cause problems having two PC's on the network being forced to have the identical credentials (IP/Subnet/Gateway/DNS/Physical Mac address). If the other PC dropped off the network would the one with the spoofed details have access to the modem or would the modem know it's a different PC?
I'm just a cheaop skate and on't wanna pay for the router (only gonna use it for a week)
