Strange problem with apache and php files

Hello all,
i hope this is the right place to ask this question, but i have been trying to find some information in the last weeks without any success.
I have a Fedora Core 2 linux box with apache and php installed. Every thing was working fine until a couple a months ago, when suddendly when accessing the websites, a dialog box is prompted asking me if i want to save or open the php file. I have tried to see the configuration of the httpd.conf and everything seems to be ok.
Until now the problem could be solved by doing a reboot to the server, but now, this is not working neither and i am confronted to the same problem over and over.
Can some one point me to a possible solution or where to find more information about this issue?
Regards,
D.
