cPanel expert help required for mime.types

Post by myleow »

Over the weekend when i completed my RSS code, i mistakenly tried adding application/rss+xml with extension php into the mime.type using cPanel.

This completely turned my PHP files useless, when i hit the URL it download my php file instead of parsing it.

I then changed the extension from php to rss, so it is application/rss+xml rss but that did not help. When i tried removing the User Defined Mime.type, i was unsuccessful.

I have 2 domains running on the same server and having this mime.type setup only affected the domain which i used to log into cPanel.

Does any cPanel expert knows how to fix this? Does any System Admin where i can locate the file that contains this error and removing it manually?

Later i tried adding in another random mime.type called application/abc+xml w/ extension abc and i could not remove that from the User Defined Mime Type again. The only User Defined Mime type i could remove using cPanel are those that are already defined in System Defined Mime Types like if i add application/x-httpd-php .php .php4 .php3 .phtml. I am able to remove it using the cPanel remove function, other than that i am stuck.

If anyone have any idea, please help me out.

Thank you in advance.

I logged in as Root and look through the cpanel and apache directory for any file that contains rss+xml or even rss but was unsuccessful.

So i would like to know where does cPanel store User Definied Mime Types for each Domains? Any information would be helpful.
