Apache2 and SSL

I have a question about the apache web server that I hope someone can help me with. I'm using version 2.0.59 on my local machine for testing the pages and I have a page that needs to use https. But I can't seem to get it to work. I've been reading into it and I think it's because I'm missing mod_ssl. Now I've found some websites out there that the person has created their own version of mod_ssl, but I'm alittle scepticle about using them. I'm just curious if anyone else has come across this problem and what they did about it. Thanks for the help.

For environments where you don't have a compiler available, yes, I think that's the way to go. I'm not sure precisely who you're talking about, so I can't comment on the credibility of this specific site, but most mod_ssl compiled versions are third-party.

To me this looks like triplicating a thread?

Indeed it is tim. Nicely caught.
jdhorton, if you have a thread on a subject already, it's probably not a good idea to make another on the exact same subject.
