Running your own name server

Post by impulse() »

If I buy a domain from Nominet, how would it be possible to host the DNS record that contains the MX and A records on a Linux box? Are there are programs I would need to do this? BIND9 seems to have cropped up, would this be suitable?

I would recommend a more light-weight, and more maintainable dns daemon (eg: djbdns).
