Hey all,

I've exhausted my vocabulary of knowledge and of useful search engines trying to find the 'perfect' guide to installing & configuring PHP on my Vista machine so that I can test some PHP code I'm writing. I'm new to PHP and newer to server administration so this is pretty foreign territory for me. I've followed a few guides for getting PHP installed but have no idea if they've screwed one another up or what. After enabling all of the IIS7 install options in Vista, I think I started with the automatic installer, then tried the zip-extraction-install, and tried a whole bunch of things from a whole bunch of guides to configure PHP properly. (I've also tried the install guide, here, viewtopic.php?t=33616 , but it doesn't seem to be active anymore). Well, after all this, I don't even know how to test if it's working. Can someone tell me how to actually go about testing PHP on my machine, in very simple terms & extended steps? And can you also tell me how I should have properly configured/installed PHP if my tests don't work?

Thanks so much for your time,
-rainwalker

A few days later, still no luck. Has no one had to test PHP files on Vista yet?

Very few of us use IIS. I would imagine it reasonable to guess few of us use Vista.

Whoops, sorry then :)

I'll try somewhere else.
