Can't un-install, repair, or re-install with .MSI file

First, thanks for being here, it's good to know there's a place to ask questions.

I've been hosting a web site for years now using PHP, and yesterday decided to upgrade my PHP and Apache. So I downloaded the latest MSI to install, and forgot to uninstall the old PHP first, installing the new PHP right on top of the old one. I immediately started having problems. I went and un-installed my old PHP, but that deleted most of my new PHP install. So I did the next logical step of re-installing the new PHP. First i thought I'd 'clean up' some so tried to un-install the new PHP first to start over from scratch. But, I got this error:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
So, I figured I'd just try to re-install over it. So I click the .msi and first try a 'repair'. It adds some missing files, but most aren't showing, including the .dll needed for Apache. So, I downloaded the .zip file, extracted it, and cut-n-pasted all the missing files into the folder. Still not working right. So, I figured i needed to start over from scratch. I un-installed Apache and tried to uninstall PHP, and got this error:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
Can anyone help me uninstall my PHP so I can build it all over clean again please? I tried finding an error in my Registry, but my RegCleaner says I have no errors. I just don't know what to try next....[/quote]

May be for you would be better to use XAMPP or WAMPP?
