Upgrade to PHP 5.2.5 (& 5.2.6) Caused Arcade to stop working

Post by mmiller »

Hi Folks;

Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about PHP :-(

I run Invision Power Board 1.3.1 and have an arcade installed on it (http://www.asksomeone.net/forums/index.php?&c=3)

It worked well under PHP 4.x and MySQL 4.x Recently I upgraded to MySQL 5.0.51a and then re-checked site operation (including the arcade) and all was well. I then upgraded to PHP 5.2.5 (& .6) and immediately found that everything worked except the arcade :-(

Try as I might, I can't find any reason for it not to work anymore. As soon as you click on the Arcade link you get a blank screen :-(

Does anyone know why this might happen? I'd sure love to fix it as many people are asking where the arcade went :-0

BTW, I'm running PHP on IIS 5.0 (and have been for years)

Thanks!

Yes, but they stopped developing that version for my version of IPB (1.3.1) The newer Arcade releases are only for the latest IPB (2.x forward).

So I don't know what the actual problem is and what I was hoping for was a high-level understanding of why it stopped working. For instance, would it be that it was coded for the older PHP releases and there's something preventing it from working with the latest PHP?
