infact when we are going to connect to server, not able to connect by IP, but we ping server responded well, what is the problem??? please give any idea?

:(
I m not able to connect to the server(Lionux RED HAT ENTERPRISE EDITION) Please Guide????

:( :(

Thanks in advance..

I don't know what you said, but localhost refers to the computer you are actively using. The one you are sitting in front of, reading this post.
Whatever address you use to ping the server is what you should use to connect to it. Apache is normally listening on port 80, but 8080 is another possibility.
