[SOLVED] photoshop color question

Post by rehfeld »

i use photoshop 7 and have always had this odd problem.

when im working in photoshop, the colors of everything look darker/ more saturated than they should be.

like for example, i create an image, and then save it view it with ANY other image viewer/browser and the colors all look significantly lighter than they did in photoshop. same goes for if i load an existing image into photoshop, the image looks darkers than it really is.

if i go to "save for web" where photoshop shows a new window w/ the image preview, the colors look the same as if i had saved it and viewed it in a diff image viewer.

i tried to take screenshots of this... but oddly, the screenshots come out looking identical.

its very time consuming to have to keep doing a save for web preview just to see what my colors really look like. does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? i havent changed any of the default settings.

it has to do with the gamma correction settings.
