I've made a duplication of Apple's QuickTime logo. It can be found here. Just wanted to know what you think. :D

It was made in Inkscape. What SVG editor would you recommend? Also how do I make my svg viewable in firefox like Wikipedia does their svgs?

I use PHP to make SVG files.

Getting them to download properly is just a matter of adding the right content type header (either by using header() in PHP or adding it to Apache's config).

Do I need Quicktime to view it? Because I hate opening Quicktime. Once I do, it's loads itself into my startup, and asks me to update it a dozen times.

No. All you need is a capable SVG viewer, like Firefox.

.. And the server to send the appropriate headers so you dont have to save the file ;)

<edit> Saved and reopened in firefox..

Very nicely done!

Send it over to Steve and see what he says :)

Theres an odd little imperfection in the shine around the line of the Q (or whatever you call that part of a Q), but if you shrink the image, you can't even notice it.

I drew a cool little IE Blue 'e' remake. :D

Line of the Q?

BTW good job on the IE logo. You really captured the personality of the browser. ;)

Thanks. :P

The right side of it, above the "hook" of the Q (or, in Qucktime, a straight line). The curve of the shine follows the logo loosely.

BTW, your logo drawing has inspired me to redesign my blog. n_n

Haha, opening the SVG in Firefox resulted in an endless loop of blank tabs being created

Weird... Are you using firefox 2, any version with native SVG supports?

And superdezign, that hook I think is suppose to have that. Here's what I based my vector on: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c2/QuickTime7.png.

Yup, Firefox 2.0.0.4.
For the record I can view SVGs at Wikipedia.

Well, I don't know why my SVG can't be viewed like on Wikipedia... :(

If you have Opera, use that because there's no need to download.

I've made a "v2" of it, here.

Wow, impressive (opened in Opera), never tried anything in SVG before but I've gotta say great work :)
