hi all,
Currently i want upload my company product picture to a eCatalog.
That eCatalog website only allow picture size in 193px X 193px. So i resize the picture to 193px X 193px, then just uploading. When display picture with description, the picture was display well. The problem is when display a list of product, the 193px X 193px picture will auto resize to small pixel picture. Then the picture will become ugly. So have any solution to solve this kind of problem?
Thanks for any reply.

Small meaning, 50x50 or something like that? And you already had difficulty making it look good 193x193?valen53 wrote:the 193px X 193px picture will auto resize to small pixel picture. Then the picture will become ugly.
One thing that can help is toning down the jaggies as you shrink the image to 193x193. Do it in steps. 4000 to 2000, blur, sharpen, clean up, make it look clean. 2000 to 1000, and again. There are also programs that say they can improve resizing down (another from fixerlabs.com about resizing up). There should be actions avail for PS to do this. Keep a slight blur, a light general 'denoise' from something like Neat Image, blended in at only 10% or so. Otherwise, if you have clean, very sharp jaggies for the 'perfect' image at 193x193, it probably won't be very 'perfect' at any other resolution, larger or smaller.
Re: how to make image display well when small size
Here's my standard resize procedure for Photoshop - works for most images.
1. resize the image to the smaller size
2. Use Filter -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask (Almost always use Unsharp Mask)
Adjust the sliders so that: Amount is fairly high (200 or better), Radius is low (5 pixel or less), and play with the Threshold slider until you get the results you want.
Cheers, Michael
