Photography Web Page: Organization Question

It doesn't matter if you do all the error checking in the world, or if you have the most beautiful graphics, if your site or application design isn't usable, it's not going to do well. Get input and advice on usability and user interface issues here.

Photography Web Page: Organization Question

Post by captcadaver »

Hi, I'm building a website for a photographer.

Firstly, I am trying to do something very similar to this site...
http://www.andybiggs.com/

...but using this gallery:
http://www.e2interactive.com/e2-gallery-pro/

This gallery gives me lots of options. I'm either going to:

a) have a slide show on the index page with all the pictures (should I use all of them, or the best ones?) and then have a separate page for gallery selection like the Biggs site
b) allow gallery selection on the index page, so there won't be a separate gallery page.

What do you guys think?

What do you mean by "all of them"? Are you selling the photos? If so I would get an e-commerce store not a gallery. With the gallery I would probably only put the best, maybe have the rest of them browse-able by category on a secondary page.
