Personally I'm not big on the websites that try to cram every little thing onto one page so keep that in mind with the rest of my comments.

The header/site title is being lost due to all the other yellow buttons, drop downs and at the top of the page. How about making those a dark grey, or even your accent color of dark red, instead? This way your header image will stand out more instead of competing for attention with the rest of those buttons.

Way too many buttons/blue boxes down the sides. If you plan on having any kind of text or interactive banners/content in those you're going to completely overwhelm users and they won't be looking at your content -- instead they'll be clicking on the flashiest, most attention grabbing (albeit annoying) flash banner and leaving your site for some other place.

My last nit-picky thing is your RSS buttons, they should be the same color as the other yellow (or red) on your site so they match and look intentional.
