It doesn't matter if you do all the error checking in the world, or if you have the most beautiful graphics, if your site or application design isn't usable, it's not going to do well. Get input and advice on usability and user interface issues here.
I don't switch on images on my browser so the site appears completely blank apart from the images that contains alt information. I had to select the whole page to see the text starting with 'Always get perfect results..'

Pickle, I think with the bandwidth most people have today, 2mb wont take more than 2-3 seconds to load so no problem!

Imo you should always design with the lowest common denominator in mind, even with bandwidth not being an issue 2Mb is too big, you're viewing a site, not downloading a file.
