Hi all,
I have just created a WAP section for my holiday accommodation site and was wondering if people wouldn't mind checking it out on their mobiles/PDA devices to ensure compatibility.
WAP site:
http://wap.shmootcase.co.uk
Main site:
http://www.shmootcase.co.uk
Your views are welcome.
All the best, James Middleton

Tested on a BlackBerry 7750
Your "Search" is an index not a search.
I'm four pages in and I still have no idea what I'm searching for.
"Please Choose" does nothing for me.
I made it to a hotel listing after about 7 clicks. I would create a small thumbnail picture and have a link to view that photo.
I would do nested navigation. If I were on page 5 and wanted to go to page 1 I could get to page 5 from page 1 w/o going back 4 pages.
ex:
| Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4 | Page 5 |
Look into using styles. Most wap browsers can use them.

Thanks hawleyjr,
This is my very first WAP...I'll definately take your advice.
My priority was to make sure that it worked ok, judging from the fact you managed to get to the hotel answered this.
I'll do a little more research and come up with a design that works as well as the website.
Kind regards, James Middleton - http://www.shmootcase.co.uk

People definitely still use wap...onion2k wrote:People still use WAP? Crumbs.. I remember doing lots of work on that about 4 years ago. I even did tech. review on a Wrox book about it..
The only thing now is that users of the newer handhelds such as Treo devices and Blackberry devices can now access complete webpages pretty much (especially with the advent of 3G technology).
