any thoughts on my new design at http://www.esitemaintenance.com , yes I am aware it is not XHTML complaint, mainly due to stuff like
instead of
, I just want to know how you think it "looks" . I've improved the look quite a bit i do think:)

do likes:

I like the banner at the top, nice image work there...just might want to make it blend a little better

don't likes:

add some padding to your middle "cell". The text pushes up too closely to the side

stretch out your left nav section a little bit so the text on the "about this site" link doesn't wrap

The bubbles at the bottom left seem to have some weird breaks in them, not sure if that's by design or not, but seems kind of distracting

the font changes on visited links, looks like it goes from tahoma to times and a smaller size which causes the formatting to change on the rest of the page when links are visted

the forum doesn't match the site at all, make a phpBB theme to match the site

some of your cells appear to be empty on some of the pages causing some border issues...lose the borders :)

despite the fact that I like the image at the top, the text within is difficult to read...it's too blurred

the top margin is too large

for myself, the banner was a bit hard to read due to the dark glow on dark text. The orange on the left sidebar nearly blended into the background. Consistency of link coloring is important if you must change the default link color someone has. The black/darkred background of the page clashes very harshly against the whitesmoke content region. The positions of the textual links in the navigation seem misaligned as well.

Okay!!! I fixed some/most of th eissues you all pointed out including some spacing and the site pretty much looks the same in I.E. as it does in Firefox which is always great and yeah.. Take a look again and lay into round two, if you must, of the tirades:-D I do appreciate your time though on a more serious note. I'm not a web designer, can't ya tell? :-D

edit-it's amazing how much clearer the tirade sentence came by adding two comma's...
