Site Critique

Post by pickle »

Hello all,

I just finished the latest revision of my website and I was wondering if you guys could let me know what you think? There's not a lot of content (of course I'm planning on changing that eventually), but I'm interested to know any opinions you may have.

Website: nderson.ca

Thanks.

Well, its not valid xhtml, or valid css.

Other than that, I like the color scheme, and the layout is pretty friendly.

Under "Browse", in Firefox, at least, if you place your mouse on the outside edge of one of the links, you can get a really cool flashing effect as the link goes from larger to smaller to larger and so on. I don't know if you want to fix that.

Most of the random titles were great. And the latest blog entry was hilarious. I have to try that someday.

Sonofa***! I validated it 100 times before posting here - guess I missed one. It's fixed now though.

Ya, I just found out he flew out to BC yesterday so he won't be back until Monday. I just flipped the power to the house so his clock should be reset now

Thanks for the input folks!

I dig. Simple, does the job.

Something I would do, though, would be to put a greyscaled version of the background on your #menu links ... which then turns blue when you hover on them. Just for consistency. If you wanted to. ;)

~RobertPaul - I'll give that a try, but I'm not sure I'll like it. Maybe if instead of grey, I used a light blue?

~Dm7 - I know deviantart uses mozilla extensions of CSS to make the rounded buttons: Description.... I used Photoshop though. I can send you the PSD if you want, but it's nothing special - just the rounded rectangle shape

~Jcart - Ya, I love that one. I didn't make it though, this guy did: canastabot

Whatever floats yer boat. If you don't like it, feel free to dismiss it. It was more of a "what I would do" thing than a critique anyway. ;)
