OK, I redesigned the YELLOW BEAST I posted yesterday. What do you guys think of this one? I think it's kind of dull.

I like it a LOT more, however the drop shadow around the header is weird. Also the offset of the text in the header feels odd.

You might want to consider preloading the rollover images. When I rolled them I got open, white space until the image finally loaded. Also your header image seems to cast a shadow that doesn't fit quite right with the content body box. Otherwise, colors are a lot more soothing and the layout is pretty nice.

I like it now... check it out.
EDIT: (to everah: yes I will do all that... this is just the preliminaries... ha)

i see little broken images in the header... inbetween the link blocks...
u can use CSS background-images for those, and when you hover over them have the position move... so basically.. instead of "changing images" when you roll over.. it will be the same image, different part showing... that fixes loading problems, as it is the same image...
but what's with the broken images in between? ... wierd...
id show u a screenshot but i dont have access from work to upload this pic to my ftp

Did you change the content box BG color? I like the beige-ish bg color. Are you going to use a serif font like what is on there now? Have you tried a sans serif font with it (Verdana, Arial, etc)? Just wondering what it would look like with a softer font.

Forgot to do this earlier:
X
Invalid HTML
X Unable to validate CSS

Yes... I will get the html and css to validate later... just working on design at this point but thank you.
About the font... it looks a little better with arial, but I was trying to get a different feel. I've never used any other font than arial on a website. Any suggestions?

In the end, you generally only have 3 fonts to play with: sans-serif, serif, and monospace.

I'm liking the roma/serif fonts better on this site... check it out...

About those "broken images"...
I don't know why they would be "broken" but the images between the navigation links on the top of the page are about 3 pixels below where they should be and I cannot for some reason get them to go where they should be!! Why? anybody?
EDIT: FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE 3px thing

Due to the font size, I'd suggest using sans-serif for the actual content (aside from the "title")

I've revised it once again... more subtle hover image color. I like this much better.

That 3px image still isn't showing up on my screen.. and as mentioned previously, I'd preload the rollover images..

broken image problem FIXED (I had the <base> tag set to my local drive)... anybody have a good preloading script they'd like to share?
Another complaint... the links on my navigation bar are not centered in IE for some reason... I hate IE so much!
