where can i get some good CSS styles?

It doesn't matter if you do all the error checking in the world, or if you have the most beautiful graphics, if your site or application design isn't usable, it's not going to do well. Get input and advice on usability and user interface issues here.

the subSilver theme is held under copyright, it was created specifically for phpBB for their own use. So no, you can't use it.

Well... http://particletree.com/features/quick- ... templates/ might be a place to start, but you really need some artistic flair and a bunch of free time on your hands to figure out some nice combinations of fonts/colors/backgrounds/bg-images etc.

If you're serious about CSS and web design at least to begin with dont use a WYSIWYG editor, you will learn very little.

I can confirm what darryladie says. don't use a wysiwyg editor. Check out something like html-kit (free and works perfect for me).

I use Programmer's Notepad 2, it's free and you can do CSS, XHTML, XML, JS, PHP, ASP amongst a million other things and it has tabbed document browsing.
