Howdy all. I was wondering if you all would be so kind as to review my current site design and layout and offer up your feedback and opinions. The design I am working on is at..

Thanks in advance for all your time and feedback.

I like the clean simple design, but I'm always partial to that style. I guess your stuck with the pale blue and orange as it part of your current branding.

There seems to be too much text (for my liking) for what would be a front page to the site.

As well the first thing that caught my eye was the the 'current projects' section, not what the company is or does, maybe because it is the menu section with the colour in it.

Otherwise it looks quite good.

Perfect in my opinion except for 1 little thing. Your menu bar has a border on the right but not the left. I'd suggest either removing the border from the right, or put the border in the left and give that bar the same left & right padding as the rest of the document.

Other than that - colours are excellent. Layout is clean & simple. Well done.

its very wordy.

Also, slightly "wishy-washy". My eyes aren't drawn to any particular place on the page.

Overall, i like it tho

Looks, good. I would make the text in the center column a lil bigger though. And yes, there does need to be a focal point as well.

Remove the right border.
All the rest is great: clean code, css design, nice and calm colors. Good job man 8)

Valid HTML
Valid CSS

I like it... very clean. The only thing I have a problem with is the menus on the left. When you hover over and the background darkens, it's hard to read the orange text. Not a real big deal, but I'm sure you want us to nit-pick.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to be fine-tuning this design tonight. Some of the things I fixed so far:
  • Fixed the block-level <li> tag rendering issue with IE (side menus)
  • Fixed the upper margin/padding for the middle and right columns (upper edges align now) in IE
  • Changed the hover color on the left menu to light orange to allow for better contract with blue link text
  • Added borders to all elements that should be boxed
  • Fixed paragraph rendering in IE for right column
Some of the things that I am working on (thanks to your feedback):
  • Reducing text content to minimize wordiness (I do tend to ramble  )
  • Developing an eye-catcher (You are all SO right. I totally bagged that one  )
  • Increasing the font size of the main content boxes
I am also toying with the idea of getting rid of the muted blue or orange backgrounds. Not sure if I am going to do that, though. I kinda like the colors.

Thanks again for all of your feedback. I'll have the changes up tonight if anyone cares to re-review my design.

Don't know if I am supposed to click through the site to test...but
when clicking on one of the "Current projects"
The navigation of the page that opens up (on the left side) is broken in FF 1.5.0.1

You should change the color of the right menu back to that orange it was before. As it looks now, the site is kinda boring and needs more colors - the orange will do fine :P

Much better in term of the strength of colours.

My eyes are now drawn to the first para which is good

Don't you think that the orange background was better than the current?

I agree completely.
