Your opinion of my chosen domain name

Hi,

I'm creating a new community site, http://www.live4sound.com, which will focus on providing information on audio equipment and instruments, as well as blogs and other audio related subjects.

The best domain name I've come up with so far has been 'live4sound.com', which seems to roll of the tongue and is fairly catchy.

However, as always with something new, you have your doubts.

If anyone could give their opinion on whether it's a catchy enough domain name you'd remember, and whether it's 'cool' enough, I'd be grateful.

Many thanks for your help.

Well if you make an interesting enough logo, it should stick in people's minds... The number shortens the URL, but you have to ensure that its easily remembered.

one of the URL best practices is to avoid "audible ambiguity" - substituting "4" for "for" makes it more difficult for people to hear your URL and re-create it.

Another "best practice" is to avoid words that have two sounds so users aren't confused when reading your name. "Live" can be at lease two words, and I initially read it as "live music" instead of "I live for music".

These are both decreasingly important these days, since Google is minimizing the importance of the domain name.

Overall, I think you did rather well! Good luck with the community-building :-)
