Dreamhost SSL

I have a client whose site is hosted at Dreamhost. We now need to purchase a signed SSL and it appears that Dreamhost doesn't use a major provider like Geotrust, but provides their own certificates for a mere $15/year.

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with this picture. Thoughts?

No experience with their home made certificates, but afaik you can also ask them to install your own. By the way, if I'm not mistaken you can get RapidSSL certificates (which is essentially GeoTrust) for about the same price levels. No need to buy ridiculously expensive Verisign stuff or other overpriced crap.

Dreamhost lets you purchase SSL certs from them or through a third party.
