Marketing and Getting the Project

Post by reverend_ink »

Hello everyone.

I am wondering what you would consider the best way to market yourself and your company?

I know the common getting work from forums, but am looking for new ideas as well.

Thanks everyone.

I personally have been working on ways of traditional business marketing, what to do, who to go for, etc.

But not sure if this is going to be the most effective way.

I like to work as local as possible. Generally, I send out a bunch of proposals to local law firms and well established companies, and customize this proposal to how I can improved their image etc, nothing fancy though. I get pretty good responses from big companies. This way I can also get more personal with my clients and give them more attention, and if need be have face to face meetings. I know a lot of people who would rather see their client/employer in person in such a case, but either way them knowing they can easily contact you seems to help.

I have been doing alot of free lance work lately and have been enjoying it alot. The clients are usually helpful and you can make a good bit of cash from it.

http://www.allfreelance.com/jobsites.html is a huge list of all the sites I havent checked all them out but from experience

http://www.rentacoder.com
http://www.getacoder.com
http://www.scriptlance.com
