Have you done it, what was the catalyst or better yet, what would make you go back to self-employment?
I am at a cross roads and comtemplating both avenues, and wondering what others are considering or have considered.

As my profile says, in London, competition in a city of millions.
My specific area there are not too many companies doing web development.
But that isn't the main issue, what really is, comes back to catalyst.
What would be the deciding factor? Or at least in your scenario.
I haven't made a decision one way or the other, and trying to weigh the choices.
And hoping to hear some stories both ways to levee againts one-another.

We'll the benefits of working for a company is that all I have to do is program for a specific amount of hours. If I want to do more then they will pay me more. Aslong as I am making more money with the company with a solid income, rather than freelancing, then I would work for a company. One thing I like to avoid as much as possible is working in groups of coders. The smaller the group the better, but if you are assigned projects to deal with on your own, money ball
! What I'm trying to get at is either way is good, the money is good, the experience is good. If you are looking for a company, be patient and find some one that can afford you and that you can get a long with. I absolutely hate it when people try and dick me around simply because they are the ones handing me the cheque, but sometimes thats the way it is. Only thing you can do is make sure you can get a long with the people and enjoy their company before making any long term commitments.
