Hi
I have been offered to program image bank site like these:
http://creative.gettyimages.com
http://www.epictura.com
How much do you think i should ask for this kind of job?

that depends on features they want, whether you get a percentage of the licensing fees assessed against users, scope and size, your experience level, support plans/contracts.. the list could go on for miles...

I understand that this kind of project depends on a lot of various things...
but let's say that this site should be as close as possible to these one:
http://creative.gettyimages.com
http://www.epictura.com
How much do you think i should charge the client...(all functionality is done from scratch)?

it's impossible to gauge without knowing your experience level, familiarity with the creation of the features needed, speed at which you code, etc etc....

Have they given you a timeline they need it in? Do they want the graphics built for it? Do they need a page design? What's their position about royalties for the work? Do they want a servicing agreement rolled in or separate?

general - general is not so general when it comes to business terms

as for annoying part, i would say annoying feeling comes when you don't understand something said. And feyd has told everything very clear. He should fillin the blanks and feyd would then give him the general range. Got it?

oh for (censored) sakes i was (Censored) with feyd. it's not like I asked the question and it's like my input matters.y'all focus on the topic at hand children before i (censored) destroy the world.
// in case you hadn't noticed this too was meant in an exagerated manner:) my point was i was picking on feyd because the poster seemed to be getting annoyed.

course i could be mis reading him. another thing, all those censored words are words that don't need to be censored so get your mind out of the gutter children

Have they given you a timeline they need it in?
within one month all the core functionality must be implemented and after that there is another month for testing and polishing.
Do they want the graphics built for it?
if i get you question right the answer is that there must be an administration frontend (cms) for managing all the content.
Do they need a page design?
No, they give me the design. i supply them with displayble content and they make the design accordingly.
What's their position about royalties for the work?
again, i'm not ver skilled in this buisseness terms, so if i get you correctly...then, no i don't get paid any percentages of their profit.
Do they want a servicing agreement rolled in or separate?
what is that?

a servicing agreement is further changes after the project is baked/done/gold/released.
So, they want it basically done in a month.. My price would probably be $20K US, minimum.
