curious about impressions (online advertising)
hi, i was just wondering what is the meaning of impressions when it comes to internet advertising...i am seeing CPM(cost per thousand impressions)..what could that impressions mean?is it when you have a site, then u have an ad banner, the moment the viewer of the site saw the advertisement, is that already an impression??or does it have to be clicked(the banner ad) before it became an impression...anyone can enlighten mo on this...thnanks.

Whenever your ad is displayed = 1 impression. Two ads on a page would double the impressions (each user seeing two ads). Sami's point earlier is more relevant - be sure you know which an agency is referring to.so, am i corect in saying that whenever a page is viewed and the ad banner is visible, am i to consider that an impression?
