simple: how to sell an "idea"?

hello all!
i have one precise question:
how can someone who's not a programmer sell ideas, projects etc?
i have few ideas, but i'm not a programmer. all things i have in my mind are meant to generate income, you can treat them as ideas for starting online business.
one of them is a bit "strange" since it concetrates on english language, as a one standard "language of the world". sounds stupid, i know
so, if anyone can tell me how can i sell "myself"

i would be gratefull.
please forgive me if i did language mistakes!

I don't think you'd really sell the idea itself, you'd pay somebody to implement it and try making money on it that way.

Make sure this is some one you trust, in real life. Ideas can be stolen very easily, and most of the time it is dificult to prove that it was origininaly yours.

Are you talking about approaching a programmer with a business proposition in the hope that he'll take on the risk of programming your idea? That's called gambling.
If you're not a programmer and you wish to convince someone who is to go into partnership with you then you better make a strong case for your proposition. Programmers are analytical and I'm sure the first thought that comes to mind when someone approaches them with a 'great' idea, and it happens quite a lot, is that if it is such a great idea then why not just pay a programmer for what you need? If the idea is a solid one then why not search for an investor or venture capitalist and let the programmer do what he does best, which usually isn't taking business risks.
The best way to convince a programmer to take part in a business is to show him the money!

I'm a bit of a gambler...
Explain what needs to be done technically in a PM or email and I'll see if it's something I'm interested in...

Sorry to sound negative here, but if you ask me your biggest problem is they way you percieve your concept yourself at this point Maybe it's the way I read it.
It's really difficult to sell the idea when you publicly bash it in public (like on a forum).
sounds stupid, i know Wink
Every little bit counts, and it only takes one post to bite you in the rear. My advice, flesh out the concept on paper until you really understand it. Then you can talk about it with excitement, which is crucial.
You can't sell something you don't believe in 100%.
Back to your original question, when selling a concept I often do not need to convey a technical knowledge of it's inner workings. You do need to understand how it works yourself, but you don't need to describe the technical details to your prospect in most cases.

Only ideas ? How about the implementations and expectations ? When you have ARROW, you need a BOW to actually use it! Did you do researches for your ideas ? Do you also have business plans for your ideas ?
Very basic reminder: How do you use arrow when you don't have the bow ?
Cheers,
Chris

Even though this is an old thread... I'd like to point out this:
http://www.programmermeetdesigner.com
The creator of that site is a poster here... so we kinda have inside access or something.
