Ubuntu Wants Python Guys

I love PHP, and I love Ubuntu. I'm about to resign from my job so that I can focus on PHP work. I'd love to work at Ubuntu, so I went to their site:

http://www.ubuntu.com/employment

It's a shame that Ubuntu wants Python and Ruby guys instead of PHP guys. Anyone know why that's the case?

If it's because PHP isn't good for making rich client apps, then is there hope for PHP/GTK at all?

And what about a standalone rich client solution like -- Firefox XUL, thttpd, PHP-cli, and SQLite? Isn't that good enough?

Python and Ruby are extremely feature rich and powerful OOL's. As a matter of fact, EVERYTHING in Ruby is an object!

That said, if they are looking to do some dead serious OO and desire/need/want (whatever) features that are not present in PHP, these languages make a lot of sense.

I've hacked in Python and I start a new job Monday doing Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I personally prefer PHP for Web Development and will continue to use it for my own sites, but Python and Ruby are good alternatives depending on the kind of development you want to do.
