A million dollar idea... without any money
Alright, so let's say I had this million dollar idea and I know for a fact it will be huge once it's built, but I don't have the resources or the time (possibly don't have the know-how either) to build it. What can I do? This is probably sort of a stupid question (answer: you forget about it), but I'm just wondering if anybody has any other ideas than that.

Step 1: Get some proper evidence that it will be huge. Then either:The Ninja Space Goat wrote:I know for a fact it will be huge once it's built
- Sell the idea.
- Learn to produce it yourself.
- Employ someone to produce it for you.

Ideas are almost worthless - you're definitely not the first person to think of whatever it is you've come up with. Doing it is priceless!
Don't be afraid to talk about your ideas unless the market is only big enough for 1 person, in which case you should switch markets
Competition in a wide open field is awesome for everyone - it creates awareness.

If you don't have the resources or the time then venture capital is the route, but if you don't have the know-how then it is hard to know how interested they will be. Ideas are worth some fraction of what someone believes they will make.
This isn't that shaving/whipped cream on the head thing is it!?! That could be huuuuuuge!!!

I got, I got it, is it:
A device and method for increasing the internal temperature of water, whereby enabling the user to remove external particles from the surface of the skin and hair in a more comfortable fashion.
Or maybe:
A device and method for partitioning baked wheat products into equal-width parts.

I'm not saying nobody else can think of it... I'm SHOCKED nobody has... but I can't find it on the internet anywhere, and the concept is freaking common sense... it's simple.Mordred wrote:I got, I got it, is it:

Write out a detailed business plan, then see if you can copyright/patent the idea. Get a NDA together and, if you really think there is merit to it, shop it out to potential investors.
Keep in mind that many investors will not look at a plan that has a NDA on it because there is a possibility that it could lead to legal action for them if someone else has already presented them with the same idea that have happened to have funded already. But it is always worth a shot.

What is it?

Source: http://rondam.blogspot.com/2006/10/top- ... myths.htmlMyth #3: Someone will steal your idea if you don't protect it.
Reality: No one gives a damn about your idea until you actually succeed and by then it's too late. Even on the off chance that you do manage to stumble across someone who is as excited about your idea as you are, if they have any brains they will join you rather than try to beat you. (And if they don't have any brains then it doesn't matter what they do.)
