No, not arrogant at all. We have to stick to our guns. Just didn't realize you could get clients at that rate. I must be placing ads in the wrong places, or not placing enough ads, or giving out too soon.
In all reality, $50/hr does me good enough. It pays my bills fairly well with "movie & dinner" money with the wife and kids, but not much else. It doesn't pay much else because I sit on the bench too much. (I am working hard right now to get residual income going with my own website projects.)

Where I live you can make $120K a year AND get $100/hour contracts and still have a hard time just paying bills.

We generally end up charging in that range. Although we don't charge by the hour I'd imagine it ends up somewhere around there.

For the area where Everah works, and from my observations of his posts here, I have no trouble accepting that he can charge rates like that and offer options like that. Experience and proven past projects are the key to free-lancing. And a well developed "bedside manner" that instills confidence in your clients is essential, too. I have known people who just don't present themselves well, either in person, on the phone or in email. But at the core, you have to be able to really understand your clients' business problems (sometimes even when they don't!) and be able to move swiftly into a technical approach that addresses those problems.
