Huh? LOL

Any business is a good business to get into so long as it makes you happy and your passionate about it. See my web site. ;)

I don't make a ton of money but I love software and it's development, best practices, architecture, etc. I eat, sleep, breathe and everything else software.

I'd be doing it for free in my spare time anyways so I might as well make money doing it and thus it's a good business for me to be in.

If you dispise the idea of selling women's underwear...that would be a bad business to get into...likewise if you love "gadgets" that would be an excellent market to enter as your passion becomes your profession and you are destined to be successful. :)

I take it that this is PHP-business related in some way?

If so, consider browsing questions and answers in "The Enterprise" forum on this site, as well as check out freelanceswitch.com (another goodie).

As for me, when the dollar goes down, I make more cash usually. I guess it has to do with the currency exchange rates and the fact that more people are willing to be risk takers with an Internet business when the economy is bad. But that's just a wild hunch. And I'm booked up with clients at least until next Q2 of next year. So, no, we freelancers are fairly secure in a down economy, for whatever reason.

That's wrong for a start. Lots of businesses do very well out of a slump. They tend to be the ones that save other people money.

Good marketing can be done even during a recession. My advice would be stop worrying about the currency and focus on the user needs, and I'm sure it will work out. I agree people take bigger financial risks with their project budgets when they think they're going to scam people out of a quick buck with their new get rich scheme
