I'm just wondering, each time I've made it very clear what my intentions were with the code base, should I be making these people sign something or put a disclaimer? I don't think any of them care but that could change if I ended up accidentally selling it to someone they weren't friendly with?

Software Licensing
So I wrote some software, made a bunch of money (
), posted on some forums in response to somebody else trying to do the same thing. Sold it to them to. Got 8 more calls and sold it a few more times.. etc...

Re: Software Licensing
I'm personally not interested in selling software, I am more interested in leasing it (without giving away the source code). Even then I will require in absolute a physical tangible piece of paper to be signed; no contract no service end of story. I've read too many instances of software license agreements being broken to do what I want to do paperless.
Let's say you sold your software to Bob who then sold it to Fred without your permission. If you forced Bob to sign a physical contract stating the license freedoms and limitations with his signature on it then if you're standing before a judge saying that Bob sold it to Fred when Fred should have purchased it from you instead then you'll be in a much more solid position.
...but I'm not a lawyer so these are only my observations that I am sharing. It's a very interesting topic...but I have to keep learning before I start concentrating on this stuff like I am currently with code.

Re: Software Licensing
Yeah well it took me a couple weeks to write and I've made enough to live off for months already, anyways yeah this question would probably have been better suited for a lawyer instead of an internet forum, was just going on the chance someone out there has resold some code before and would know where to get contract templates or something
