Status of this forum with respect to SwiftMailer 4.0.0

On the new SwiftMailer website, I did not find a link to this forum. Only to Google groups. Google groups may look nice and simple, but forums like this one are much more versatile. For help discussion purposes I would strongly prefer this forum rather than Google Groups.

Thanks, I hear ya. I was hoping to phase the use of the forum out but if it's really a problem (you're the second person to bring it up) then I'll add the link again. It's linked to in the footer of the website.

These forums just feel really ad-hoc, being tucked away right down at the bottom of DevNetwork. Perhaps I can install a forum on the site itself that is a bit more integrated?

I'll get the link back on the site tomorrow :)

That may be a good idea. It also allows you to more clearly distinguish the several options, like "help forum", "bug reporting", et.

Yeah. Another reason was that this forum is full of help/advice regarding version 3. Newbies will land here and copy/paste code wondering why it doesn't "just work". If I could "version" the forums then I'd have more control.

Incidentally, these forums do support subforums. If I were to shift to a dedicated install I'd export the data from here too.

Maybe a bit off-topic, but this is true for many other projects as well. Doesn't this forum software have standard solutions for this?

We can add subforums, but this isn't "my" forum so I don't really have the control (I'm a moderator, not the Administrator ;)).
