Many times, including this morning, I find that this forum is down (server/apache is down) - with only a total of 40 or so members/guests online. And when it is online, more often then not I have to keep refreshing the page to get the list as I get a warning message saying something along the lines, "cant connect now" (phpbb message).
Dont get me wrong, I love this forum and the people here.
I am just curious what hardware is the forum running on? and another curiousity is how many MB is the database and what traffic does it use per month?

Re: DevNetwork Forum Hardware Spec
It usually times out for me and I get a squid error message. Check the site news forums, they sort of have things clarified there I think.

This is not because forum is down, but because phpBB have a flood control and limits the search queries you can perform per given period of time. I don't use search so often (search includes "View active topics" and other functions) and I'm usually browsing the topics, so I never see such message. And I spend few hours a day herejaoudestudios wrote:This is the message I was referring too...Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.

Re: DevNetwork Forum Hardware Spec
Even when I log in for the first time it occurs. I dont think it is when a user searches too much, but when there are too many connections to the database. I am sure this could easily be increased.
Re: DevNetwork Forum Hardware Spec
I'm not sure because I was not using phpBB for a long time, but as far as I remember, this message is by the flood control, and if there are too many connections to the database, there is another error message. Anyway we have to wait for an administrator's reply. But I really didn't see this message (maybe just once on this forum)
