I am working on a friend's computer and two XP cd's would only allow me to install after formatting...it's a laptop so go figure it's a tough scenario.
I downloaded and burned a copy of Ubuntu and her hard drive is mounted however there are no items listed on the drive. It's an HP laptop (and no the hidden boot partition was one of the XP installs that would only give me a format then install option).
Any thoughts on why I can't see anything on the hard drive and how to change that? I can see the items on my USB flash drive.
Saving files via Ubuntu boot from XP (mount but blank?)

I think the issue is that the hard drive is NTFS ...though it is has standard SATA power/data ports so I will get a spare wire tomorrow and hook it up as a second drive.
