he should say that to us as well. Who's going to keep our coding safe while he's gone? :)

I've told my boss I won't be writing any new code for the next 9 months.

I've a free weekend. I'm back for two days. :D

I feel weird. I have no idea what has happened here in DevNetwork (or anywhere else) since I left... I haven't read any newspapers, haven't been online, ... I've got 328 new emails in my inbox (gmail, so, at least 80% is non-spam)...

Right now my muscles hurt everywhere, but that's the way it should be. Today morning we had a Cooper test (run as far as possible for 12 minutes). I ran 2825 meters in 12 minutes which is 9270 feet. I like the food and desserts they have in the "catering center" and I shot exactly 80 times with M4A1 during these two weeks. That was fun. :P

5280 feet ins a statuate mile I believe...so just under 2 miles in 12 minutes...not bad.

I think my best time was a mile in 6 or 7 minutes, which if I recall (without doing the math) is about 8MPH.

Running sucks, it's hard on your knees, so now i bike and use a elliptyical machine :)

They're turning our sweet Kai into a killing machine!! :|

Seriously, Kai, you deserve respect for serving your country, and admiration for your athletic achievements.

Well nothing fancy about my athletic achievements, but I do like the way my legs hurt after running... it makes me feel alive.

Hmm I guess either your shoes suck or the surface you are running on sucks. Try some $300 shoes on a soft surface and it should be fine. :P

Haha...well...while my shoes were never 300 bucks (maybe 30) and the surface wasn't made of perfectly formed soccer field...running is known to cause knee problems as you age in life. There is a reason why professional sprinters, etc generally don't run past 35ish. Your knees take a pounding regardless of where and/or how you run (maybe different on the surface of the moon).

Cycling doesn't inflict(sp) the same kind of pounding on your joints, so wear and tear is not as severe.

Kai, you still look pretty young (obviously if your recruited into the Finnish army) give it time my friend...wait ten years and tell me the same thing. :P

Good luck and have fun :)

Cheers,
Alex

Wow, that's a good job! I've never been great at those timed running things.

Oh, and GOOD LUCK! Hope to still see you around when you get time off!

I guess you are 40-50 years old...?

I have an exercise bike at home and I use it at times. It's great when you want to exercise your lower body muscles without wearing your joints and the weather condition won't affect your exercise. It's also easy to see how you progress. :P

You wouldn't want to be here with me... marching with uneasy leather shoes on asphalt... :)

I tried it...sorta...I was in cadets as a teen...was robbed of a flying scholarship so I said <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> on the military and being a pilot.
