Which PHP MVC framework is trending right now? I mean, people became enthused about Zend Framework (ZF) when it first came out, but then thought it too difficult, not complete enough in some obviously core areas, and too slow. So then CodeIgniter (CI) came out and it was all the rage. Kohana, however, was a fork of CI that was designed specifically for PDO and PHP5, not as an after-thought, so a lot of developers hopped on board with that -- at least the ones I knew.
However, I just did a check on eLance, oDesk, and Google Insights and I found that ZF, CI, and CakePHP are all the top contenders right now, with CakePHP being number one for some reason, and by a wide margin. Kohana isn't trending very well.
So then I checked two years versus just the last few months, and it's basically showing me that CakePHP is in the lead.
What's your opinion? The reason I ask is, even though I'm building my own MVC framework right now, I still want to be able to work in teams occasionally and want to stay mainstream.
Also, can you share any problems you have found with CakePHP with me?

Re: Which PHP MVC Framework Is Trending?
All of those three frameworks are very popular. All are effective. Cake is full stack, so more integrated. ZF is more at will and component-ized, so less integrated. CI is lighter (FYI - CI is older than ZF).
