Holy crap! I forgot how to write!

Post by JPlush76 »

I was writing thank you notes for my engagement party today and it hit me... I forgot how to handwrite! I type all the time and write maybe once or twice a week. I had to print all the notes. lol

Anyone else ever forget how to write the old fashioned way?

Every now and then it happens to me. Lowercase cursive is never a problem, I do perfectly fine with that. However, whenevr I try to do a capital cursive letter I find myself always thinking about it. That darned Q is the most annoying. But unfortunately I find myself thinking about T and other common letters. Pity the time...

First of all Congrats JPlush76 (aka. Jim) on the engagement. :D :D

I know the feeling well when I ever I have to print something it is all screwed up. Lower case, upper case all back to front and upside down. It has been so long since I have writting anything that I'm not sure how to.

Fortunetly there are some word proccessing text styles that look like cursive script so I don't have to any more.

Boy I can hardly image how lazy kids will get with cursive script if it can be done on a wp.

The only thing that I remeber how to write cursively is my name( on far to many cheques it would seem) and writing a salutations on the bottom of cards and then I still have to think about it.

Try writing cursively with mild dyslexia now there is a way to spend an afternoon.

I was a draftsman for years before moving into sales and then management (and then programming, but that's another story). As a result, I letter (that is, print) very rapidly and neatly and tend to do that rather than write longhand.

Some years ago my secretary was standing beside my desk waiting for me to finish a phone call and when I scribbled a note and finished the call she was looking at me oddly. I asked her what and she replied, "I wasn't sure you knew how to write longhand," blushed and ran from my office.

I still tend to letter rather than write my notes. Congratulations on your engagement.
