Live Help - help

Post by Addos »

I hope this is the correct place to ask this question. I’m in the process of setting up a counselling website and need a facility where potential clients can chat live. I have looked at a few such as http://solutions.liveperson.com/ which seem good but are costly enough so I was wondering if anyone can help with some recommendations. All I need is a secure facility to chat to a client that has booked a session. I don’t necessarily need all the facilities that seem to come with a lot of these solutions that are advertised. I don’t mind paying for this but just don’t know how to pin down a suitable product. I know Skype is a possibility but I really wanted to have something more pro looking on a site and was hoping to not use Skype.

I’m happy to work with PHP but get the impression that it’s best to go with a package that is already setup rather than try to do this myself.

Thanks for any help

This is one area in which there is not a lot of quality OSS solutions nor many commercial ones, especially self managed (many are hosted).
