You can. Flash has used event call backs since action script 1. Flex introduces further decoupling including a full featured MVC support (that will remind you of Magento/Spring 1 with it's "mxml"). In fact each "view" is just a class, you can do "active mvc" where view listen directly to UI events. Very much like programming a desktop app

Well it's Windows Vista, and on that note it's Microsoft, anything other than Windows XP is going to give you a hard time.

Well it's a lot different from Flash for example and it's very powerful. One nice thing also is that the code is completely sepparated from the graphics so you can have a programmer and a designer working at the same time without afffecting anything of what the other one is doing. Then you can easily add the functionality to the design.
and you can't do that in flash/flex?
Sure but Silverlight was built for it in the get-go.
But M$ is a <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> company so no need for me to say anything more I guess..

Really? You talked to both development teams and they shared the original design documents with you? You must have pretty privileged access to those company's employees.

Easy.
Flash action script wasn't that sofisticated back in the day as I remember that's all I'm saying.
Silverlight is still very fresh and has it's issues for sure, but I like it.
