Hi, I just starting learning PHP about half a year ago and I've been working on a web site since I started. It's an online game, so it should have high MySQL usage, will require alot of bandwidth and will have alot of users. I'm only about 1/3 done it so far but I'd like to be prepared for when it is ready.

So I'm wondering, when I have it all programmed, what do I do next? Would this web site require a host or a devoted server at first? How can I get advertisers on my site so it generates revenue? What do I need to know about advertisement revenue and is there anywhere I can read on this? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You have to have a host in order to have a web site. There are plenty of good hosting companies out there (check the web hosting board on this forum for a good list).

If you can estimate how many users you will have at any given time; then you should be able to calculate your hosting/bandwidth requirements.

That is to say that if you have 1000 users at once and the average page size is 30k, then you will need a host that can handle 30 Mb of data at once with bandwidth and processing power.

The best thing to do is just ask your hosting company.
