PHP is a programming language that runs inside web servers. It is used to generate HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. to be set to the browser by the web server.

It is not clear exactly what you are asking about job seekers???

As much as you can, learn the basics - get a free server do some coding, test your coding, get advanced. Go to uni do a course in it ?

if you want to long term store anything. Yes, very important. Databases are very important to any website which requires storage of any data. This isnt something you will learn overnight. Its much better to work at it over a period of time.

I think you'd be better off practising a bit more. Most employers want a Degree or equivilant, or so many years experience.

What he's saying is, "Teach me how to answer the questions that will be asked in the interview, so that I can get a job doing something that I don't know how to do."

Yup, I have a Degree with 1 full year of PHP and MySQL - and I graduated, and to be honest, I know mostly what I'm doing and still don't know how to do a lot. Not really a learn on the job kinda thing php.... you need something first. Even to be a trainee.
