Domain knowledge

Post by phpengineer »

Hi all,

I'm a PHP developer and I got an interview application form in which they have asked the following question.

Domains which you have worked on and interested to work in ?

What do they really mean by this?

Can I say "Social Networking Site", "B2B Sites" and "Search Engines" as answer for this? If not, can you give me some examples so that I can select my field?

Thanks in advance,

Well, unless the company is in a country were English is not the official language, I probably wouldn't bother to fill out the application. I mean, how good is the company going to be to work for if the person creating the application is illiterate?

I tend to agree, if they worded it what domains have you worked on and what do you want to work with it sounds a bit wierd. although i am sure what they mean is
- Can you prove any sites you have worked on, maybe point out stuff you made to the site.

What you want to work with is a bit more tricky. It could be like you said, social networking, auction sites, CMS systems etc. or maybe some more PHP specific area. better ask what that mean about this, if they care to explain further.

Good luck !
